For this Weekly Fourcast we caught up with Jaybird Athlete Fernanda Maciel. Born in Brazil and currently living in the Spanish Pyrenees, Fernanda is a professional ultrarunner who has done it all—competed in martial arts and Olympic-level gymnastics, worked as an environmental lawyer and sports nutritionist, podiumed at multi-sport endurance races, the UTMB, and the Ultra Trail World Tour, and logged FKTs on some of the world’s tallest peaks—but what brings her motivation to run everyday is simply her love for nature.
“I think when you have a passion in your life, you can wake up and do it wherever, if you are tired, or having a bad moment. Running gives me so much—peace, silence, energy, pure moments of real life that I like. I love to discover and challenge myself, my emotional, physical and mental parts.”

Fernanda’s Recommended Podcasts
Rich Roll Podcast, Vegan on $25
This is an amazing podcast that shows being a vegan can be cheap—it all depends on our motivation and consciousness.
Ana Alonso Podcast, Guerra 3
Jimena Torres is an experienced war reporter who, after years of trying, finally gets a permit to enter North Korea. The journalist tries to unmask what is happening under the surface and it makes me think about how lucky we are to live in a peaceful place, but at the same time how emotions are deep in this crazy war world.
The Mindful Minute with Meryl Arnett
I liked this podcast because each episode is a broadcast of one of Meryl’s meditation classes, where she discusses topics like self-acceptance, creativity, and how to manage our life’s inevitable stresses.
Run, Selfie, Repeat
Kind of a funny and motivating podcast where Kelly Roberts talks about taking the first step, setting a goal and laughing about our way through the struggle.
The Weekly Fourcast is a series of curated podcast recommendations from our athletes, ambassadors and employees. Every week, we’ll drop a new list of four shows and episodes that you need to hear, direct from the Jaybird crew—the perfect audio fuel for the week ahead.
