For this Weekly Fourcast, we caught up with Jaybird ambassador Natalie Mitchell. Natalie is an eleven-time, 3:05 marathoner from Southern California, who is putting in the daily work to become a faster, stronger athlete. She started running with her parents at the age of seven and never looked back, going on to run cross-country and track in high school and college. Natalie is also a mom to three young kids and co-founder (with her husband) of Suite Run, a company that provides guided running routes to independent hotels for their guests. Follow Natalie @natrunsfar and on her blog, NatRunsFar.com.
Natalie’s Recommended Podcasts:
Mario Fraioli’s The Morning Shakeout Podcast, Hillary Allen
This episode describes Hillary’s tragic 150-foot fall off the side of a Norwegian mountain and her incredible resilience and comeback. I loved listening to Hillary’s sunny and optimistic outlook on life and Mario proves time and again that he is a consummate professional in our sport both on and off the road.
Travel with Rick Steves, Scandinavian Smackdown, Green Book Road Trips
I’m in love with world travel and this episode was very interesting. It dives into the subtle yet distinctive difference between the Scandinavian countries and what they think of each other. Rick then veers into a totally different direction and talks about how The Green Book (which just won an Academy Award for Best Picture) provided safe places for African Americans to travel across the US in the 1950s and 60s.
Work, Play, Love with Lauren Fleshman and Jesse Thomas
As an athlete who just started a business with her husband, I find Lauren and Jesse’s humor and real talk very refreshing. Their no-nonsense banter about love, sport and business is informative and entertaining. I also love the Q&A from listeners at the end of each show.
My husband Jerold recommended this to me and I’m hooked. Pat Flynn tells it like it is in business with his weekly coaching calls with entrepreneurs — good stuff.
Natalie’s Favorite Jaybird Headphones:
Where do I begin—there is so much to love about the RUN wireless earphones. From the snug fit in my ears that never moves and holds up during a sweaty 20-mile run, to the amazing sound quality. I also think the one-touch feature where you can stop or start music and skip to another song, all while never missing a step of your run is pretty sweet. As a runner who never used headphones in the past, now I pretty much never run out the door without the RUN.
The Weekly Fourcast is a curated series of recommended podcasts from Jaybird athletes, ambassadors and employees. Each week, we’ll drop a new list of four shows and episodes that you need to hear, direct from our influencers—the perfect audio fuel for your next run, ride or workout.
