For this Weekly Fourcast, we caught up with outdoor lifestyle photographer Sheldon Martineau. Sheldon calls Salt Lake City home, and like most who live at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, he loves to use a variety of pursuits to get him outside. From climbing and snowshoeing to a good old-fashioned backpacking trip, Sheldon is fueled by a deep love for nature and travel, and his motivation lies in creating and sharing that passion with others through his photography.
“Whether it’s in the backcountry around a fire, or while pumping up snow covered hills, I love to have my music with me—it creates a cinematic feel and really helps me get my head in the zone.”
Sheldon’s Recommended Podcasts:
Visual Revolutionary, Episode 74: Quin Schrock
For me personally, Quin is a photographer I look up to, and he offers a lot of good insight on creating a new level for himself and others.
Art of Visuals, @jamieout | Family man on a mission
This episode really shows that you can do it all. If you value your passion, you will always find time for it. And if you don’t have time, it’s not as big of a priority for yourself, clearly.
Art of Visuals, @Jordhammond | Citizen of the World
I like this episode because it gave me a lot of insight on getting started as a photographer and really opened my eyes on how to travel while incorporating work.
Art of Visuals, @emmett_sparling | Journeys around the world for perspectives never seen before!
This is another favorite, because it shows that age really doesn’t matter in the digital world. As long as you can show up for the occasion, you can make a name for yourself.
