The Jaybird Firmware Update Assistant allows you to update your Jaybird X3 buds to the latest firmware.

 

This requires either a Windows or Mac computer, as well as a data compatible USB cable. If you do not have a suitable cable, contact Jaybird Support.

 

The entire update process will take 5-10 minutes. Just follow the steps below to install the Update Assistant app.

 

Version 1.3.2 of the Jaybird X3 firmware reduces the volume of the voice prompts.

Step 1 - Download the app

Step 2 - Install the app

After the app has downloaded, double click the .dmg file. A Finder window showing its contents will open. Drag and Drop the app into the Applications folder to complete the installation.



Step 3 - Start the app

Start the app by selecting Jaybird X3 Update Assistant from within the Applications folder.

Step 4 - Follow the instructions

Follow the instructions provided within the app to connect and update your buds.

How do I know if my Jaybird X3 have the latest firmware?

There are two ways to check if your X3 have the latest firmware v1.1.0

1. Jaybird App

Install the Jaybird app and connect your X3 buds


Android: Go to Menu → Support


iOS: Go to Headphones tab → Support


Your X3 firmware will display after the app build number


The latest firmware is v1.4.0, so if you have an earlier version download the Firmware Update Assistant and follow the instructions.

2. Firmware Update Assistant

Download the Firmware Update Assistant and follow the instructions. The Update Assistant will tell you if your X3 already have the latest firmware.
