FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GENERAL FAQs

WHAT IS REIGN?

Reign is an Active Recovery Band that knows how to get you to your max, and keep you there.

Reign understands your body’s fatigue and recovery by measuring your Heart Rate Variability (HRV), as well as your Activity and Sleep patterns. These are crucial to keeping you in top form and helping you get at every last drop.

Reign automatically recognizes everything you do and presents your complete day by activity & sport. Reign will show you how long you’ve been active versus inactive and breaks down your day with an activity timeline. It’s a powerful motivator to see when and how you get more active over time.

HOW DOES THE JAYBIRD REIGN COMPARE TO OTHER ACTIVITY TRACKERS?

The Jaybird Reign is worn on the wrist like most popular activity trackers. While other trackers focus on monitoring steps, Reign goes further and automatically recognizes your day by the type of activity and sport.

Like other trackers, Reign tracks sleep and provides a summary of nightly sleep quality and time slept. Unlike other trackers, Reign automatically detects sleep and learns how much sleep you need. This allows Reign to provide a recommendation of how much sleep you need tonight to be fully rested and at your best tomorrow.

The Jaybird Reign also has a unique feature called Go-Zone, which reads your body and lets you know how active you should be today. It is great fuel when you need a spark. Other trackers have no comparable features.

Like other popular trackers, Reign syncs wirelessly and is compatible with iPhone and Android. More than just being water resistant like other trackers, Jaybird Reign is fully waterproof and can even track how much time you spend swimming.

WHAT COLORS AND SIZES DOES REIGN COME IN?

The Jaybird Reign is available in three colors:

  • Black
  • White
  • Charge Green

There are five wristband sizes. The Small/Medium Box includes sizes 1, 2 and 3, while the Large/X-Large Box includes sizes 3, 4 and 5. As a general rule, L/XL will fit most males and S/M will fit most females. Click here for the sizing guide.

CAN THE REIGN WRISTBAND IRRITATE MY SKIN?

The Reign wristband is made of silicon which is the same material used in a range of watches and sporting devices. It does not contain latex and the metal parts are high quality alloy. It has been thoroughly tested on sensitive skin, however as with any jewelry, some users may experience sensitivities. To avoid any skin sensitivities or irritations, Jaybird recommends:

  • Clean your Reign regularly, separating the pod and the wristband and thoroughly cleaning the inside with warm water.
  • Select an appropriate sized band that allows adequate air circulation between your band and your skin.
  • If you experience any skin irritation, please stop wearing your Reign immediately and notify Jaybird Customer Service.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY PERSONAL DETAILS IN REIGN?

Reign stores your date of birth, gender, unit of measurement (metric or imperial), height and weight. You can change any of these within the Reign app by accessing your profile in the side navigation.

When doing so, please provide the email address and date of birth registered with your account.

HOW ACCURATE IS REIGN?

Extensive research has gone into ensuring Reign has a high level of accuracy when measuring the type of activity you are doing, the calories you expend, the number of steps you complete and also the feedback you get from Go-Zone. Let's look at each of these briefly:

  • Activity type - Reign can detect the type of activity you are completing with 98% accuracy. Accuracy is highest when you undertake the same activity for an extended period of time, i.e. Reign will be more accurate detecting a one minute walk than a 10 second walk.
  • Calories - Most activity trackers measure only steps and estimate calorie use based on this. Reign detects the type of activity you are undertaking and the intensity of the activity, making it accurate at determining energy expenditure.
  • Steps - Reign is 98% accurate when detecting steps during a continuous walking or running activity.
  • Heart Rate Variability - the Heart Rate Variability information captured during Go-Zone is 99% accurate when compared to an ECG. This is comparable in accuracy to a high end heart rate monitor.

HOW DO I WEAR REIGN?

To put Reign on, follow the steps in the diagrams below.

Start by placing the pod into the wristband. Then insert the pin in the band extender (wrist strap) on one side, then wrap it around your wrist and complete the connection by inserting the other pin. If you find this difficult you can hold the band in place against your body while you wrap it around your wrist.

Try various band sizes to get an appropriate fit if needed.

HOW DO I CHARGE REIGN?

To charge Reign, follow the steps in the diagrams below.

Start by plugging your USB cable into the Reign charge cradle.

Then plug the other end of the cable into an AC adapter or PC/laptop.

Clip your Reign pod into the charge cradle. The LED display will light up red showing the percentage of battery capacity. When 100% is reached, the 12th LED will light up solid green.

Jaybird Charging

At this point, remove the pod from the charge cradle and it is ready for use again. It can take up to 2 hours to complete a full charge.

WHAT DOES REIGN TRACK?

The Jaybird Reign is smarter than a standard activity tracker. In addition to counting steps, it will also detect how much time you spend undertaking different activities, including: walking, running, swimming, cycling, general activities, sport and inactivity.

Reign automatically detects sleep allowing it to learn your sleep habits and provide personalized sleep recommendations.

Using Go-Zone, Reign can tell you how ready you are to be active. Go-Zone is based on Heart Rate Variability and can determine when you are fatigued and when you’ve recovered.

HOW DOES REIGN MEASURE HEART RATE VARIABILITY (HRV)?

Your Reign pod has two metal sensors, one on the top and one located on the bottom of the device. These parts are made from high quality alloys and are tested to have good conductive properties so they can pick up the electrical signals of your heart.

These sensors are connected to an ECG accurate biosensor chip within the pod. ECG biosensors are capable of turning the heart's electrical signals into accurate heart rate and Heart Rate Variability data.

By placing your finger on the top part of the pod during a Go-Zone test Reign can measure your Heart Rate Variability to determine how ready you are to be active. Reign's HRV accuracy simlar of chest strap worn to measure heart rate while exercising.

HOW DOES REIGN DETECT MOVEMENTS?

Reign uses an accelerometer to detect the direction, speed and intensity of your movements. Applying smart algorithms, Reign determines what activity you are undertaking.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE CORRECT SIZE BAND?

The Reign band comes in 5 sizes to ensure you get the perfect fit. The Small/Medium Box includes sizes 1, 2 and 3, while the Large/X-Large Box includes sizes 3, 4 and 5. Please print out this page at actual size and hold your wrist up to the diagram as shown. This will let you see what size premium band you will be as well as the box to purchase.

You can also hold your wrist up to the back of the box and see which band size will be most suitable. After purchase, try each band size in your box to get the perfect fit. Your band should be snug but not tight.

DOES REIGN TELL THE TIME?

The Reign LED display can tell the time. Simply go into the Settings Menu in your Reign app and select LED Display. Ensure ‘Show Time of Day’ is switched on. Then sync your wristband with your app.

If you then do four firm quick taps on the Reign band, the LEDs will light up. If you have ‘Goal Status’ on in the LED display settings, then this will be indicated using a series of green LEDs. A few seconds later the LED will display the time of day.

If you have ‘Goal Status’ turned off, then the four taps will result in an immediate display of the time.

As shown in the diagrams below, the LEDs display both the hour and minutes as follows:

  • Hours - number of consecutive solid red LEDs. For example, 5 consecutive solid would mean 5 o’clock.
  • Minutes - the flashing red LED. Each LED represents 5 minutes. For example, if the 6th LED is flashing red, it would be 30 minutes past the hour.

Jaybird Time

WHAT DOES THE REIGN DISPLAY TELL ME?

The Reign LED display can tell you both the time and your progress towards your daily goal. You can customize your LED display by going into the Settings Menu in your Reign app and select LED Display. You can then select to show Goal Status, Time of Day, neither or both. These preferences will be updated to your Reign wristband on the next sync.

To view the selected LED on the Reign display, simply tap the band four times in quick succession. As shown in the diagrams below, goal status is shown by a row of consecutive solid green LED. As there are twelve LEDs, each one represents ~8%. When all LEDs show solid green, you have achieved 100+% of your daily activity goal.

It is recommended that you clean your Reign regularly, especially on the inside of the band and bottom side of the pod. As your Reign is fully waterproof, we suggest washing your Reign in water without any detergent, then letting it fully dry or rubbing it dry with a soft cloth before putting it back on.

If you experience any discomfort from wearing your Reign, or notice any signs of skin sensitivity or irritation, please discontinue use and contact Jaybird Customer Support.

HOW MANY USERS CAN USE ONE REIGN TRACKER?

Reign is a personal activity and lifestyle tracker. It is made for individual use only. While having your friends and family use Reign can be a motivating way to keep you on track towards your active goals, you will need your own personal Reign device.

WHICH HAND SHOULD I WEAR REIGN ON?

For best results we recommend you wear your Reign on your non-dominant hand. This will ensure maximum accuracy. If you prefer to wear Reign on your dominant hand, that is fine just be aware that it may provide a higher number of daily activity points, calories and steps. For this reason it is also recommended that you do not change the hand on which you wear your Reign.

HOW DO I SYNC MY REIGN?

As long as you have Bluetooth turned enabled on your phone, Reign will automatically sync with your phone every time you open the Reign app and it has been 15 or more minutes since the last sync. If you ever need to instigate a sync manually, simply pull down the activity dial screen in the app.

For troubleshooting tips, click here.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SYNC MY DATA?

The duration required to sync Reign is dependent on how much data is stored on the band. Sync duration may vary from only a couple of seconds to about 30 seconds if you have not synced in two days.

WHAT IS THE MEMORY CAPACITY OF THE REIGN?

Your Reign wristband has the capacity to store over 48 hours of activity in its memory without a sync. Once the memory of Reign is full it will continue to store data by overriding the oldest stored data. Upon sync, all data is downloaded to your phone and the Reign band is back to full memory capacity.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON MY REIGN?

The Jaybird Reign comes with a 12 month warranty.

WHAT IS THE BATTERY LIFE OF THE REIGN?

A fully charged Reign is capable of over 5 days between charges. Exact battery life is dependent on how you use the LED display. For maximum battery life, turn LED display options off in the LED Display settings within the app.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO CHARGE MY REIGN BATTERY?

The battery status of your Reign is shown in the app. When the battery status gets below 10%, the center three LEDs on your Reign will flash red three times, and repeat every 30 seconds. When the low battery LEDs start flashing, you have less than half a day to charge your pod, otherwise it will likely go flat.

ACTIVITY FAQs

HOW IS MY DAILY ACTIVITY GOAL ESTABLISHED?

Your daily activity goal is a personalized activity recommendation that is based on your individual activity levels. The recommended number of activity points is initially based on the information you provide during user setup, and it will then develop a more accurate profile as Reign learns the actual levels of activity you undertake.

If you complete Go-Zone in the morning, Reign will provide you with a unique activity goal for that day based on how ready you are to be active. If you are well recovered, it will be a high goal, while a low goal is recommended if you are fatigued. If you do not undertake Go-Zone, you will be provided with an activity goal based on your recent activity levels.

CAN I ALTER MY DAILY ACTIVITY GOAL?

Your recommended activity goal for today is based on your Go Score and your past activity levels. A low Go Score will result in a low activity goal, while a challenging goal is recommended when your Go Score is high. While you are unable to adjust your goal for a specific day, you can adjust your activity goal baseline via the settings menu if find your goal is consistently too low or high.

MY DAILY ACTIVITY GOAL IS TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You can adjust your activity goal baseline via the settings menu if your goal feels consistently too low or high. This will adjust all future activity goals, regardless of if you do Go-Zone or not.

WHAT ARE ACTIVITY POINTS? HOW DO I GET THEM?

Activity points are a measure of how active you have been. They are based on the type of activities you do, how long you do them, and how intense they are. You accumulate activity points for all movement, with walking and general activity getting the fewest points per minute, and cycling and running getting the most. You do not receive any activity points while sleeping or when inactive.

HOW DO I ACHIEVE MY DAILY ACTIVITY GOAL?

You achieve activity points by being active, i.e., moving. The higher the goal, the more active you will need to be on that day to achieve your goal. To find out exactly what you need to do to hit your goal for today, touch the center of the dial on the activity screen in the app. This will provide a guide as to how many minutes of your favorite activities you need to complete to achieve your goal for today.

Jaybird Activity

MY DISTANCE MEASUREMENTS AREN’T CORRECT. CAN I ADJUST OR CALIBRATE THEM?

Reign estimates the distance you travel based on the number of steps you take, what type of activity you are completing and how intense that activity is. For example, each step completed while running will accumulate more distance than a step of walking. Your step length is also personalized based on your height and gender. You are unable to alter or edit your step distance within Reign.

WHY ISN’T REIGN MEASURING MY STEPS ACCURATELY?

Reign most accurately measures steps when worn on your non-dominant hand. Our research has shown greater than 98% accuracy for step detection when completing continuous walking and running. Steps may vary when compared to estimates from other activity trackers. As Reign knows what activity you doing, it can accurately measure your steps.

While we pride ourselves on the accuracy of our step measurement, not all steps are created equal; a running step is more beneficial than a walking step, and you don’t get any steps while cycling or swimming. Therefore Reign’s main measure of achievement is activity points.

WHY DO I SOMETIMES GET EXTRA STEPS?

Reign is a wrist based device that looks for unique movement patterns to determine the number of steps you take. At times, some other activities may be detected as steps.

While we pride ourselves on the accuracy of our step measurement, not all steps are created equal; a running step is more beneficial than a walking step, and you don’t get any steps while cycling or swimming. Therefore Reign’s main measure of achievement is activity points.

MY ACTIVITY TYPE ISN’T BEING CATEGORIZED CORRECTLY. CAN I CHANGE THIS?

No. You are unable to adjust an incorrectly categorized activity. Jaybird’s research shows that 98% of all activities are categorized correctly with results being most accurate during continuous activities.

CAN I STILL GET ACTIVITY POINTS IF I DON’T WEAR MY REIGN?

No. If you do not wear your Reign, this time will count as inactive, and inactivity does not accumulate activity points.

WHY DO I GET CALORIES WHEN NOT WEARING MY REIGN?

If you are not wearing your Reign, this will count as inactive time. During this time, Reign will continue to count the calories you expend but this is at a lower rate than if you were being active.

HOW IS MY ACTIVE AND INACTIVE TIME MEASURED?

Your active time is an accumulation of all time you have spent active for that day. This includes walking, running, swimming, cycling, general activities and sport. Your inactive time is an accumulation of any time you spend inactive, sitting, not moving or sleeping during the day. Inactive time does not include the time spent sleeping during the night.

WHAT DOES THE GREEN ACTIVITY GRAPH SHOW?

Your active time is an accumulation of all time you have spent active for that day. The green activity graph below the activity dial in the Reign app displays your activity levels throughout your day. It is a summary of how active you have been at varying times of the day. The higher the green peaks, the more active you have been.

HOW DO I GET DETAILS ON A SPECIFIC ACTIVITY?

You can access details of a specific activity on the app’s activity dial. Simply select your preferred activity type by touching the associated icon above the dial. This will display the number of activity points, calories and duration for the selected activity.

Jaybird Run

WHY DOES REIGN MEASURE STEPS DIFFERENTLY TO MY OTHER ACTIVITY TRACKER?

Our research has shown greater than 98% accuracy for step detection when completing continuous walking and running. Steps may vary when compared to estimates from other activity trackers. As Reign knows what activity you're doing, it can accurately measure your steps.

While we pride ourselves on the accuracy of our step measurement, not all steps are created equal; a running step is more beneficial than a walking step, and you don’t get any steps while cycling or swimming. Therefore Reign’s main measure of achievement is activity points.

AT WHAT TIME DOES MY REIGN START A NEW DAY?

Reign starts a new day at the time you wake up in the morning. If you did not wear your Reign to bed, your day will start several hours prior to your normal wake time.

HOW DOES REIGN TRACK MY CALORIES?

Reign calculates your basal metabolic rate (BMR) using your age, gender, height and weight. This provides a base daily calorie expenditure. Reign then calculates your calories from activity by tracking how active you are throughout the day. Reign knows what activity you are doing, how long you do it for and the intensity of the activity. This allows Reign to calculate your total daily calorie expenditure.

WHY DOESN’T SWIMMING SHOW ON THE ACTIVITY DIAL?

Swimming will only show on your activity dial when you have accumulated more than 10 minutes during your day. If you sync your Reign to your phone after swimming but no swimming is shown on your activity dial, it may be because your swim was for less than 10 minutes.

WHY DOES SWIMMING SHOW ON MY ACTIVITY DIAL EVEN WHEN I DON’T SWIM?

Reign detects activity types based on movement profiles that represent each activity. Activity detection is then run through an accuracy filter to minimize the occurrence of inaccurate detection. Some activities may follow a similar movement pattern to swimming and thus show on your activity dial as swimming even if you did not swim that day.

SLEEP FAQs

HOW DOES REIGN DETERMINE MY RECOMMENDED SLEEP FOR TONIGHT?

Reign tracks your sleep habits and learns how many hours a night you need to operate at your best. This is called your Ideal Sleep hours. Reign then compares how much sleep you have been getting to your Ideal Sleep and will make a recommendation on how many hours of sleep you need tonight. Follow this recommendation and you should feel your best when you need to.

WHEN REIGN RECOMMENDS SLEEP FOR TONIGHT, DOES THAT REFER TO TOTAL TIME IN BED, OR ACTUAL TIME ASLEEP?

Reign focuses on how much time you spend sleeping. It learns how much time you sleep and provides Tonight’s Recommended Sleep as a recommended amount of sleep. For example, Reign may recommend 8 hours of sleep for tonight, but if you have an interrupted sleep, you might need to spend 8:30 or even 9 hours in bed to achieve this.

WHY IS MY SLEEP PERIOD GREATER THAN MY TIME SLEPT?

Reign focuses on how much time you spend sleeping and this is shown as your Time Slept. The Sleep Period shows the time from when you first went to sleep to when you finally woke up. As an example, if you have an interrupted night’s sleep, you may have been in bed for a total of 9 hours, but only slept for 8 or 8.5 of these.

DOES REIGN LEARN MY PERSONAL SLEEP HABITS?

Reign tracks your sleep habits to learn how many hours a night you need to operate at your best. All sleep measures and recommendations, including Tonight’s Recommended Sleep, are personal suggestions based on what Reign has learned about your individual sleep habits.

DO I NEED TO MANUALLY START MY SLEEP PERIOD?

No, Reign automatically detects when you are asleep. Just like Reign can detect which activity you are undertaking (e.g., running or walking), it can detect when you are asleep. This means you do not need to tell Reign when you are going to sleep or when you wake up.

HOW DOES REIGN DETERMINE WHEN I WENT TO BED AND WHEN I WOKE UP?

Reign automatically detects when you are asleep. Just like Reign can detect which activity you are undertaking (e.g., running or walking), it can detect when you are asleep. This means Reign can detect when you first go to sleep and then when you finally wake up and get out of bed.

WHAT IS TONIGHT’S RECOMMENDED SLEEP ON THE REIGN SLEEP DIAL?

Reign provides a nightly sleep recommendation to help you operate at your best. It does this by tracking your sleep habits and learning how many hours per night are ideal for you. This is called your Ideal Sleep hours. Reign then compares how much sleep you have actually been getting to your Ideal Sleep allowing it to make a recommendation, using sleep science, on how many hours of sleep you need tonight.

WHAT IS IDEAL SLEEP ON THE REIGN SLEEP DIAL?

Reign tracks your sleep habits to learn how much sleep you need to be at your best. Initially your Ideal Sleep is based on the information you provide in your user set up, however by tracking your actual sleep habits, Reign quickly learns how much sleep you really need. After only a few days of use, Reign will make an accurate assessment of your ideal sleep which continues to get refined over time. It learns this by comparing what is a good or poor sleep for you as an individual and then determining how much sleep each night is ideal.

WHAT IS RECENT AVERAGE ON THE REIGN SLEEP DIAL?

Reign looks at how much sleep you get each night over the last couple of weeks to determine how much sleep you have been getting recently. This is called your Recent Average. This provides a measure of how much sleep you have been achieving compared to how much you need (your Ideal Sleep).

DOES REIGN DETECT SLEEPS OF ALL DURATIONS?

Reign will detect any sleep that includes more than 50 minutes of continuous sleeping. Naps shorter than 50 minutes are not detected by Reign and do not add to your total sleep profile. This duration, 50 minutes, was chosen for scientific reasons as during naps shorter than this, you will generally not achieve deep sleep and do not get the full regenerative benefits. Naps shorter than 50 minutes will be considered inactive time.

IF REIGN DOES NOT DETECT THE CORRECT SLEEP PERIOD, CAN I CHANGE OR EDIT IT?

On the rare occasion that Reign incorrectly determines your sleep period, you can edit it manually. Simply go to the Sleep Detail screen and touch the Edit/Delete option in the upper right corner. This will then allow you to edit the bedtime and wake time.

WILL REIGN FALSELY DETECT SLEEP IF I AM NOT WEARING IT?

On the rare occasion that Reign incorrectly determines your sleep period, you can edit it manually. Simply go to the Sleep Detail screen and touch the Edit/Delete option in the upper right corner. This will then allow you to edit the bedtime and wake time.

WILL REIGN DETECT POWER NAPS AND DAYTIME NAPS?

Reign will detect any sleep that includes more than 50 minutes of continuous sleeping. Naps shorter than 50 minutes are not detected by Reign and do not add to your total sleep profile. This duration, 50 minutes, was chosen for scientific reasons as during naps shorter than this, you will generally not achieve deep sleep and do not get the full regenerative benefits. Naps shorter than 50 minutes will be considered inactive time.

WHAT DOES THE SLEEP MOVEMENT GRAPH SHOW?

The sleep movement graph visually displays how much you moved throughout the night. It allows you to see when your sleep was most interrupted. The height of the graph also shows how intense the movement was.

HOW DO I TRACK SLEEP WITH MY REIGN?

Reign tracks your sleep automatically. All you need to do is wear Reign on your wrist as normal when you go to bed. It will then automatically detect your sleep and wake times, and determine your sleep profile.

HOW MANY NIGHTS GO INTO SLEEP RECOMMENDATION?

In conjunction with your ideal sleep, Reign looks at your full sleep history but puts an emphasis on the most recent nights in order to generate your personalized sleep recommendation.

CAN I REALLY “CATCH UP” ON MISSED SLEEP?

Catching up on sleep has been a bit of debate, because it is a bit tricky. If you are short on sleep from last year, you no longer need to catch it up. On the other hand if you are short on sleep this week, then there is a benefit in catching it up. Catching up on sleep isn’t an hour for hour exchange. For example, the world record for time without sleep is 11 days. After three long sleeps he was “caught up” and back to normal function. Reign learns you and will reflect an accurate amount of sleep needed to be at your best tomorrow.

GO-ZONE FAQs

What is Go-Zone?

Go-Zone reads your body and lets you know how active it wants to be today. It does this via a short test upon waking. Just place your finger on Reign’s top sensor for 2 minutes. It’s a great motivator when you need a spark.

Why Doesn’t Go-Zone Match How I Feel?

Go-Zone detects how active your body wants to be today by measuring its underlying level of fatigue and recovery. Sometimes your mind gets in the way, thinking that your mood or general tiredness is representative of your recovery levels. Your true recovery level is not represented by any of these factors, and so your mind will often play tricks on you. Let Reign give your body a voice, it wants to be more active than we often give it credit, we have more in us than we may know. On those days you don't feel so great but have a score of 40-60, listen to Go-Zone and get active, you might be surprised at just how good you feel once you get going.

Go-Zone gave me a high score but I’m still sore from recent activity. Why?

Go-Zone measures your overall level of fatigue, of which muscle soreness is only one type. At times you might have muscle soreness, yet Go-Zone tells you that you are ready to be active. This will generally occur after new types of activities or where the strength component is high. Despite this superficial soreness, overall your body is still keen to be active. It wants to get out there and start moving, which will help you get rid of some of that soreness and generally feel better. Start out easy and build into your daily activity while following Go-Zone’s recommendation. It is what your body wants.

How do I conduct Go-Zone?

It's simple. After waking, go to the bathroom if needed, then sit in bed, or a quiet area, and select ‘Start’ on the Go-Zone screen. When instructed, place your finger on the top sensor and ensure the bottom sensor is in contact with your skin. After a couple of seconds the app will show ‘Measuring’. Stay relaxed throughout the 2 minutes, avoid moving and talking. On completion, you will be provided with your Go Score and Today’s Activity Goal.

What does my Go Score mean?

Your Go Score is a number between 0 and 100. A Go Score of 33 and less means your body is fatigued and you should take it easy today. A score above 33 means you are in the Go-Zone. The Go Score will be accompanied by an activity goal which is your personalized recommendation based on how active your body is ready to be. While a higher Go Score is accompanied by a higher activity goal, you may find you often feel your best during exercise when your score is between 40 and 60.

Why can I only conduct Go-Zone in the morning?

Go-Zone assesses and compares your body at rest across multiple days. Therefore consistency in the timing of Go-Zone is important and reliable results will only be obtained in the morning prior to the activity and stress that comes with your day. Reign only allows Go-Zone to be conducted within 30 minutes of waking and prior to any substantial activity.

How long does it take Go-Zone to learn my profile?

As every individual has a personal Heart Rate Variability (HRV) profile, Go-Zone needs to learn yours. After only a few days of use, Go-Zone has an understanding of you, and after ten days it starts to know you quite well. During this period you will see your results become more and more accurate. Go-Zone never stops learning, so with every additional day, it will know you better.

Today’s activity goal seems too high or too low. Can I adjust it?

Your recommended activity goal for today is based on your Go Score and your past activity levels. A low Go Score will result in a low activity goal, and a challenging goal is recommended when your Go Score is high. While you are unable to adjust your goal for an individual day, you can adjust your activity goal baseline via the settings menu if find your goal is consistently too low or high.

How often should I do Go-Zone?

Go-Zone is designed to be completed once per day. For best results it is recommended that you use it three or more days per week.

How does Go-Zone work?

Your body responds differently depending on how fatigued or recovered you are. Go-Zone goes straight to the source to understand your body’s response by measuring your Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Your HRV displays a clear signature to each of your body’s unique responses. Go-Zone learns these signatures, allowing it to provide you with accurate feedback on how active your body wants to be.

Does Go-Zone consider my sleep, stress and physical activity levels?

Yes. Go-Zone assesses your Heart Rate Variability which is an overall measure of your fatigue and recovery. Your Heart Rate Variability is impacted by sleep, physical activity, work, study, stress, travel, illness and other factors.

What is Heart Rate Variability?

Go-Zone uses Heart Rate Variability (HRV) to determine how ready you are to be active. HRV looks at the milliseconds between consecutive heart beats and how much this varies. HRV is used extensively in medicine and the monitoring of elite athletes. Everyone has a personal HRV signature that varies slightly according to their current fatigue, recovery, and capacity for physical activity. Go-Zone learns your personal HRV signature in each of these states and informs you how active you should be.

How is Go-Zone different to measuring my resting heart rate?

Measuring your resting heart rate in the morning offers a general guide to your level of fatigue. Your resting heart rate can vary by more than 5 beats/min during a 10 second period. This type of response could be misleading if you were using your resting heart rate to assess your level of recovery. That's why Go-Zone uses Heart Rate Variability (HRV) which is a more sensitive measure of your level of recovery or fatigue.

Why Won’t Go-Zone Start?

If you can’t get Go-Zone to start, ensure your pod is charged and phone Bluetooth is turned on. On the Go-Zone screen in the app, select ‘Start’. Your phone should connect to your Reign pod and sync before instructing you to start Go-Zone by touching the sensor. If after placing your finger on the sensor and waiting for 5 seconds, the test still does not start, try rotating the pod to the lower side of your wrist and starting the test again. You only need to place light pressure on the top sensor to ensure the bottom sensor also has good contact with the skin. If you are still not having any success, place a drop of water on the top and bottom sensor and repeat. This helps with connectivity and you should have the test started in no time.
