The Jaybird Firmware Update Assistant allows you to update your Jaybird X4 buds to the latest firmware.
This requires either a Windows or Mac computer, as well as a data compatible USB cable. The USB charging cable that came with your X4 will work.
The entire update process will take 5-10 minutes. Just follow the steps below to install the Update Assistant app.
The latest Jaybird X4 firmware version is 1.4.0. This update has general bug fixes.
Using Windows? Download Windows version
After the app has downloaded, double click the .exe file, and follow the prompts to install the app. If the download is blocked, you may need to temporarily disable Windows Defender or your anti-virus.
Go to your Windows Start menu and run Jaybird X4 Update Assistant.
Follow the instructions provided within the app to connect and update your buds.
If you are having any issues with the update process, please contact Jaybird Support.
Please note: The Firmware Update Assistant will have a software version. This is different to the headphone firmware version.
If your buds are unresponsive after a successful update, put them back on the charger (connected to a power source) for a few seconds and then remove again. This will get them out of the unresponsive DFU mode after the update.
